Default Data

Most document fields can have default values that can be set and retrieved. The defaults remain set when you terminate a session, exit the program or move to other documents.

Shift+F12 - To get default data for a field:

  1. Activate the field where the default data is to be entered.

  2. Hold down the Shift key and press the F12 function key.

  3. In case your keyboard does not have an F12 function key you may issue the command Edit>Default Value>Get.

    Places the default value in the active field.

F12 - To set default data for a field:

  1. Activate the field containing the data to be set as a default.

  2. Press the F12 function key.

  3. In case your keyboard does not have an F12 function key you may issue the command Edit>Default Value>Set.

    New items that are added to that particular document (e.g. a customer account ledger) will now automatically contain the data that has been set as a default for that field.

Ctrl+F12 - To clear default data for a field:

  1. Activate the field for which the default data is to be cleared.

  2. Hold down the Control key and press the F12 function key.

  3. In case your keyboard does not have an F12 function key you may Issue the command Edit>Default Value>Clear.

    Clears the default value for the active field.

To clear visible columns:

  1. Activate the tables that you wish to clear the visible default values.

  2. Issue the command Edit>Default Value>Clear All

  3. Clears all defaults for columns that are currently visible on screen; any defaults that have been set for hidden columns will remain in the defaults.
