Installing the NVexport Procedure Library

The NVEXPORT procedure library is installed in a set of DOS books using the GETLIB procedure (much like installing a Payroll update or productivity disk.)

Unlike a Payroll or productivity disk installation, there is no diskette supplied containing the library files. Instead, when you install NV2, the NVEXPORT library files are also installed and can be found in the NV2 installation directory.

To install NVEXPORT:

  1. Run NV1 and open the books to be converted.

  2. From anywhere in the books, issue the /Go RunProc command (/GR).

  3. Select the GETLIB procedure and press <Enter>.

  4. To fill in the library name:

  5. Press <F5>.

Problems Installing NVEXPORT

The only difficulty that you might encounter installing NVEXPORT is an error such as the following:

ERROR: Cannot open library file "D:\NV2\NVEXPORT.NPL".

If this error occurs then the NVEXPORT library files were not found in the directory path specified in the error message.

To overcome this error, then you will have to find the library files on your system and enter the correct drive/directory path into the GETLIB prompt.

To find the files, use the Windows search command (Start - Search - For Files or Folders...) to look for the file NVEXPORT.NPL.

Note: The Search Results window (in it's default view) does not show the path to the files - only an icon with the file name below it. To see the path to the file, click the window menu command View - Details.

When the file is found, enter the path shown in the Search Results window followed by the filename, e.g. "C:\NV2\NVEXPORT.NPL"
