Charging Interest on Accounts

A common Accounts Receivable task is to charge interest on one or more overdue accounts (i.e. accounts with open and unpaid items).
An alternative approach is to charge interest on the daily account balance, or the sum of a range of ledger items.
Interest can also be calculated on Accounts Payable, e.g. tenant rent deposits.
