Additional View Commands - Postings Menu Only

Additional View commands are available on the Postings Menu. They are listed in the table below

Menu Command - View >
Order Ref #
The Order Ref # adds a second reference # column to the ledger table. This column is mostly used for orders to track Backorders.
Cross Account Description
The View Cross Account Description adds the cross account description column to the ledger table.
Ledger
The Ledger view contains all transactions attached to the account whether they are open, closed, debit or credit. The ledger view is used for most transaction activity since it is the view that will show you everything. Its opening balance is the sum of all items that have ever been purged from the account. Its closing balance equals the opening plus the sum of all transactions attached to the account.
Debit
The debit view contains only debit items. For example, if an account has a normal debit balance, only items with positive amounts on the ledger view appear on the debit view. Items with zero amounts appear on both the debit and credit view. If the sign is changed from positive to negative the item automatically disappears from the debit view and will appear on the credit view. The opening balance of a debit view equals the sum of all debit items ever purged from the account. The closing balance equals the opening balance plus the sum of all items on the debit view.
Credit
The credit view contains only credit items. For example, if an account has a normal debit balance, only items with negative amounts appear on the credit view. Items with zero amounts appear on both the debit and credit view. If the sign is changed from negative to positive the item automatically disappears from the credit view and will appear on the debit view. The opening balance of a credit view equals the sum of all credit items ever purged from the account. The closing balance equals the opening balance plus the sum of all items on the credit view.
Open
The open (reconciled) view contains only open items. Each item appears on the open view only and will never appear on both the open and closed views at the same time. When an item on the open view is closed, it disappears and reappears on the closed view. The open view is especially useful for reconciling accounts with statements from external organizations (e.g. bank and credit card accounts) and for maintaining subsidiary ledger accounts using the open item method (e.g. accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory).
Closed (X)
The closed (unreconciled) view contains only closed items. Each item appears on the closed view only and will never appear on both the open and closed views at the same time. The closed view is especially useful for reconciling accounts with statements from external organizations (e.g. bank and credit card accounts) and for maintaining subsidiary ledger accounts using the closed item method (e.g. accounts receivable, accounts payable and inventory).
Opening Balance
Zero
If you are in the open view and select zero opening balance. The running amount total column will only include the sum of all unreconciled items.

Ledger
