Installing PDFCreator

Version 2.0.2 of PDFCreator can be installed in one of two ways.

During setup PDFCreator asks to Select Components

NewViews simply requires the virtual printer portion of the program.

Additionally, during setup PDFCreator asks to install other additional software

The most recent versions of PDFCreator include additional controversial software that is installed by default, please untick any additional software and click on Cancel to continue.

At the end of the installation, this window should appear.

Setting Auto Save in PDFCreator

The main installation of PDFCreator is complete. We need to start PDFCreator from the Windows Start Menu. Windows>Start>All Programs>PDFCreator>PDFCreator

We need to adjust some settings, click on Profile Settings.

We need to make a setting change in the Auto-save settings.
Click on Auto-Save, then check the Enable automatic saving and fill in the Target Folder: with the path and folder name you wish to save your pdf files. You should edit this to read C:\nv\PDFs\ to store your temporary PDF files as shown. Click on Save then OK to finish.

Setting PDF Print Directly to Printer

We need to make one last setting change to the PDF print driver.

  1. Click on Windows>Start>Printer and Faxes.
or if in classic mode Windows>Start>Settings>Printer and Faxes.
  2. In the Printer and Faxes window select PDFCreator, see screen shot below.
  3. Click on File>Properties.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab.
  5. Click on Print directly to the printer button, see screen shot below.
  6. Click on OK to close the properties window.
