Sample Mail Merge Documents

The following mail merge sample templates are included with NewViews and may be found in the demobooks directory. c:/nv/demobooks (or the folder you installed NV2 in, if you didn't use the default setup). To use any of these templates you must first create the appropriate data source file and then link it to the form letter template as described in the help for mail merge.

Customer_Moving.doc This template creates a form letter to advise your customers that you are moving. The data source should be created from a block of customer accounts.

Employee_MM_Test.doc This template is an example of the kind of letter you could write to your employees. The data source should be created from a block of employees.

Sales_Letter.doc This template is an example of the kind of letter you can create using the supplied mail merge script. The data source file is created by marking a single sales account in a block and entering the mail merge script name (Merge_Cross_Account.qw_script) in the Custom Script field of the mail merge prompt box.

Purchase_letter.doc This template is similar to the Sales_letter template except that the data source file is created from an inventory account.
