These sample "starter" databases can be used to start a new "set of books". Several starter files are shipped with NewViews. These database files can be found in the default NewViews installation sub directory starter_setups. The default installation directory is c:/nv/starter_setups.
Additional starter sets are available for download from our website. If you do not see a starter database that meets your requirements, please send us an e-mail: Start Books Support. We will try and provide the most requested Starter Books.
All starter books contain generic financial reports, a trial balance, sample customer, vendor and sales accounts, see details below.

Each set of books is a single file and you can use system tools such as the Windows Explorer to simply copy files to create a new database.
Keep in mind, however, there is no automatic naming protocol placed on the file name, we suggest database.nv2 or you may use your company or organization's name e.g. acme.nv2
Remember to give the file the type ".nv2".
Also, you cannot use Windows Explorer or command prompt to copy a NewViews file if that file is currently open and in use. If you attempt to do this, Windows will display an error such as "Cannot copy some_file.nv2. There has been a sharing Violation. The source or destination file may be in use."
