If you upgraded to Microsoft Excel® 2007 (version 12) or 2010 (version 14) from a prior version
you may have experienced a substantial performance slow down.
Excel 2007 increased the maximum number of rows per worksheet from 65,536 to over 1 million,
and the number of columns from 256 (IV) to 16,384 (XFD).
Apparently, certain aspects of Excel's programmer interface slowed down significantly.
This release works around the problem and templated printing should run between 1.5 and 6 times faster, depending on the complexity of the template.
You can now select the flow (i.e. debits or credits) when printing and/or e-filing T5 slips and/or summaries." Selecting amounts to report needed to be more general, and now using the account's normal balance, the debit/credit posting type and the tag it should be possible to manage all cases.
There was a significant performance problem when working with transactions.
Recording (i.e. committing) transactions that contained a large number of distribution items was unreasonably slow. This occurred because in-house diagnostics were turned on and inadvertently left on. This problem started with version 2.18.0 released in early September 2010 and should explain performance problems that began after that date.
Importing books from DOS NewViews with employees would cause an error;
Could not change field ".paycodes"
Invalid T4A box "22", T4A box must be one of "018" "020" "022" "024", etc.
Some existing NewViews application databases may still have old style 2 character T4A box numbers.
This release will, when opening an application database, find and prepend a 0 (zero) to all existing T4A box numbers.
The Print Account Ledgers command caused an error if no printing template was selected.
The Print T4 Summary command caused an error if no printing template was selected when destination was set to file_xml.
Missing edit assist (i.e. <F3>) to select the For the Year Ended date for T4 and T4A slip printing.
T5 slip box numbers 25 and 26 were not calculated based on the amount in box 24.
T4A slips were printing the filer's business number on the recipient's copy.
T4 slips were summing several boxes to Box 14 that should have been excluded. The list of boxes included in Box 14 are: 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42, and 84.
T4 slips filed via XML were not including Box 55 and Box 56.
