There are two W2 printing templates. The first printing template is intended to be used with Laser W2 forms. The second printing template is designed to export W2 data to Excel.

The following names can be used on templates used to produce W2 forms.

| BOXB | Employer identification number (EIN) as entered on line 3 of the "Print W2s" print settings window. |
| EMPLOYERNAME | Prints in box "c" the employer's name as entered on line 5 of the "Print W2s" print settings window. |
| EMPLOYERADDRESS1 to 4 | Prints in box "c" the employer's address as entered on lines 6, 7 and 8 on the Print W2s print settings window. |
| BOXD | Control number as entered on line 4 of the "Print W2s" print settings window. |
| BOXE | Employee's first name. |
| LASTNAME | Employee's last name. |
| EMPLOYEEADDRESS | (box f) Employee's address and ZIP code. |
| VOID | Prints an X when the W2 form will be left blank. |
| BOX1 | Wages, tips, other compensation. |
| BOX2 | Federal income tax withheld. |
| BOX3 | Social security wages. |
| BOX4 | Social security tax withheld. |
| BOX5 | Medicare wages and tips. |
