    Every time NV1 is started an error message comes on the screen,”An application has attempted to directly access the hard disk, which is not supported”, and then a choice to Close or Ignore. Ignore lets it start, but its a bit of a nuisance. Is there any way to correct this?

    Answered my own question. Turned off Fast Access.

    Yes. Fast Access must be be set of off on Windows systems 95 and above.

    I suggest that you run check books from the NewViews shell to determine if there is damage in your NV1 database when you clicked Ignore.
