    Hi,

I am in the process of organizing my book in NV1 to prepare for the conversion in NV2.

There have been a lot of old accounts accumulated in my books….ie from the AR, AP, BS, CIS, and journal reports that I would like to move them out.

If I set up a new report, inactive/old account, to move all the old accounts to this new one, does it matter if I move every old accounts here regardless of types of the accounts, or do I have to set up a separate report for each types of the old accounts I want to move….ie: one report for AR account, and one report for AP account….etc.

Any help or suggestion would be greately appreciated.

    Thanks

    Selina

Moving your old/inactive accounts from current reports to an old old/inactive report is a good way of organizing the NV1 books for presentation for printing in NV1. However, moving these accounts does not mean they do not need to be ATYPE’d for NV2. These accounts must be ATYPE’d so they come in properly in NV2 under NewViews > Account > Account types. I suggest that you review the NV2 Demo books to see a clearer picture of what I mean.

Setting up an Old Accounts Receivable Report etc does make things clearer in NV1 as well in NV2 as the report setups in NV1 will come over to NV2 after the NV1 Import has been performed.

    Hi Martin,

One more question, I assume that although I move all the inactive/old accounts to a separate report, the history figures for financial statement purposes will not be affected in anyway, am I correct? Unless I delete or purge the accounts?

    Thanks

    Selina.

Yes this is true. Do not delete or purge the accounts.
