    Hello all.

Can anyone can clarify the following statement from the NV2 FAQ page:

Will NV2 be able to print company logos on invoices?
Yes. In the initial release, all printing will be done through Microsoft Excel. “Templates” for documents such as invoices and checks will be Excel worksheets that you can customize in any way you like.

Does this mean that you must own a copy of Excel in order to create and run reports (reporting is done through OLE Automation) or does it mean that you can use any Excel compatible file as a template for a report?

    regards,

    jeff

For the moment, in testing – NV2 appears to create an XLS file which is then printed using Excel. However any program (such as Quatro) should also be able to do the job.

But the folks at QW Page – should really answer the question for you.

    Regards

The answer is you must have Microsoft Excel installed on the system.

Other spreadsheet programs might be supported in the future, but their market pentration is low, and their programming API is different from Excel. This makes Excel the ‘high priority’ target at this point.

Then I guess my program nvPRNq will continue to have life in NV2

So that people can print to “anything”.
