I have a new HP Laser Jet 1022 printer with only a USB port (no parellel port) and NV1 cannot print to a USB port. At the end of another topic (NV Condensed printing to HP Laser Printers) there are 2 replies regarding the USB port problem; however I think the USB topic deserves its own thread.

Bob Halpin, you said “You can print through a USB port if you concoct the correct NET USE command (and the printer supports the PCL language.)”. The specs for the printer say that for connectivity the print driver supports “Host-based printing, HP PCL 5e”, so I assume this satisfies your caveat. However, I do not know how to “concoct the correct NET USE command”. Any chance you can give me specific details?

I just read Bob’s response to “Program Freeze after /Print Block with w/xp”. His instructions for the NET USE command are perfect. I can now print to the HP1022 from NV1. Thanks Bob.
