How do we lock the year end once it has been completed. With a start of the new year, it would save a lot of back tracking and frustration after completing the year end and accidentally posting to a previous year – worse yet not knowing you did it.

I have tried entering dates in “User” both in the Transaction Edit Range Begin Date” and/or “Transact Edit Range End Date” – putting just 01Jan22 in the begin date or 31Dec21 in the end date or both. Still able to post. Do I have to complete any of the other columns?

Tried search for Transaction Edit, Edit Date, User Edit Date in the manual with no luck.

    Thank you

In the main database explorer on the left is a “System” folder, within the “System” folder is a “User” folder.
On the “User” folder is a table for Access Rights that summarizes all the Transaction Edit Range Dates.
The Transaction Edit Range Dates provide a “start” and an “end” date (a window) that allows for editing the books.
Just set the Transaction Edit Range Begin Date within the current year, and all prior years will be “locked”.
