    Hi Martin,

    I was wondering if we should have a new topic or forum area as my question does not fit under conversion but has to do with template use in NV2.

    I am attempting to build a custom invoice template and need all of the customer address information and shipping address information available on the template, i.e.: phone, fax, contact name, etc. We are entering all the info in NV2 but it does not seem available to the templates. Please help!

    Thanks and

    Hi Martin,

    When I am entering data in the Invoice Information fields and attempt to enter the following value – 545 BBL with 2″ sand displacement, I get the following error…

    .text {Encountered bug “314120050113103321” while running “c:/nv2/nv20.exe” (2.08.0.20060421) on computer “randylaptop”.}

    /7e {
    .text {Error occurred in command:::qw::structure::var::set InvoiceInfo /11.value {545 BBL with 2} sand displacement”}

    }
    }
    .bug_id 314120050113103321
    .text {Encountered invalid character “s”.}
    .priority bug
    }
    }
    }
    }

    We need to be able to enter special characters in these text fields because we deal with measurements on every quote/invoice. Typing out feet instead of ‘ or inches instead of ” will take too much time and space. Please let me know what can be done to overcome this. Thanks and

    Hi Martin,

    Another item…

    On the invoice template the Item_Description wraps if it is too long to fit into the cell. Can we get the Item_AccountDescription to wrap as well? Thanks and

    Hi Randy,

    I’ll be adding a new topic to the forum called Printing and Templates to this forum area.

    In regards to the slot names in shipping and customer address information, it’s time we add all the possible fields that you see in both of these windows. Look for this update in 2.09.

    The bug error you are experiencing is dure to the single quote character. Two quotes would not not produce this error. This will be fixed in the next update to NV2 or 2.09. This problem does not occur everywhere but may happen in other areas of NV2.

    We’ll look into the wrapping of Item_AccountDescription but for now you may want to format your account name cells with Shrink to fit under the Alignmenmt tab.

    Regards,

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for the Shrink to Fit tip for Excel templates and all your updates. I really appreciate the great support for NV2.

    I’m having trouble with printer ejecting a blank page prior to the first cheque when performing Pay Account – Post and Print. (v2.08)

    Run Pay Account and set the destination to a file instead of printer. CLick Continue or F5. Open the file in Excel and then File > Print Preview. Is the first page of the preview blank?

    If paying multiple vendors, is there a blank page between each cheque?

    Regards,

    Martin

    You can’t print a series of cheques to a file with “Post & Print”. It overwrites each cheque.
    I solved the problem by making a new template with the setup “fit to one page”.
    Thanks for your help.
