Thanks Martin, that will make it alot easier for clients who have up to 25 payroll department reports. They can just block all of them and run NVEXPORT.
HMahParticipantMartin:
Worked on my desktop but not the Dell 5160 Laptop.
Henry
HMahParticipantMartin:
Yes, I have 2.04. As the program does prompt me to run Default. But when I re-entered the books after shutting down I found it was still doing the default when I clicked on a folder. When I went through all of them, the default process only happened periodically.
In the same set of books which ran Default, and I re-started, I just clicked on one of the Payroll Sub reports. I indexed for about 30 sec. I clicked on which I used before and no indexing. I clicked on a third which I had not accessed since re-starting and it indexed again for 30 sec.
HMahParticipantStill an extra step to get rid of the screens which should disappear when the action is complete. To me it’s annoying to see them still there, as if they are telling me I’m suppose to do something else.
HMahParticipantMartin:
Thanks, but we have the same problem as with the AP cheques. When I made as a negative amount in the journal and printed the cheque. Then I noticed there was a minus sign on the cheque amount. I reversed the entry. So the print cheque from the Bank Payments journal will print a Negative cheque, when it should not.
I reversed the entry, and it printed correctly.
HMahParticipantGot it to work, First time I tried it I got an error.
HMahParticipantI’ve accessed the same set of books over a network. Again on the second computer it had to Index (or set defaults) all the reports again.
Is this because for each computer it must setup a database for each unit?
After it completed one has to Exit the program. Upon re-entering the books, again it index’s for each directory. This process is a pain.
HMahParticipantOk, in this case there were no entries in the “~” accounts causing the problem, so I just deleted them.
Ran NVEXPORT again,re-imported and this time the conversion completed without problems.
For the Accrual employees their Earnings do not Total To anywhere (which they should not). However, I assume you cannot run payroll for these employees in nv2, unless new regular payroll accounts are setup for these employees?
HMahParticipantTried a conversion with Accrual employees. NV2 conversion stopped with errors and did not create the nv2 set of books.
The following errors occured:

HMahParticipantBob:
I agree, using reversing entries in the current month would solve the problem, Assuming no-one ever voids a paycheque.
I prefer your suggestion of an archive snapshot at the time of calculation. Something like the T4SUM in nv1 saved by the date or ck# as part of the filename.
The purpose of the request is when Rev Canada does an assessment, they always ask for the details of the remitted amounts. The snapshot archive would provide that exact details of each cheque. Where cheques were voided, they would have to be included in the next archive listing.
Henry
HMahParticipantMartin:
The problem with PRREPORT is that it prints the actual information for the date ranges recorded in the various accounts.
For example if you voided several pay cheques after remitting than those cheques would no longer be included in the PRREPORT, and therefore the printout would not match the actual remittance figures.
The next remittance would deduct for the voided cheques and again PRREPORT would not reflect the difference for that pay period.
My question regarding nv2 was “is there a method to print the actual employee cheque detail which make up specific remittances (regardless of when you print the report, at the time or twelve months later).
HMahParticipantMartin:
Quote: “Block the employees and then right mouse click Print Payroll Report. Set your dates and press F3 on the value for Template. There are different templates that Canadian and American users can use to print the details of their remittances to the CRA or the IRS as well as internal payroll templates that can be modified by the end user.”
The above may or may not provide the correct information. In addition it a pain in the butt to have to do to get the info.
Since Canada Customs requires the Number of Employees and Gross Wages for each remittance, why not have nv2 gather the information when calculating the payment and print the numbers on the cheque stub.
HMahParticipantTHyland:
Glad to see your post, but for immediate help I’d call or email QW Page. Their usually availble on the spot to help.
Let us know what solution(s) you come up with and the end result of your conversion.
HMahParticipantKirk: Posted this in the wrong thread.
Ok Budgets can be viewed by Down Arrow and Budget.
However, if one wants BudgetActualVariance on the same report, how do you set up the Multiple Period to show that report?
HMahParticipantOne can never have enough backups, but how many and what will vary.
We recommend backups daily using and External source (zip, cd, usb or another hd) rotating 5 disks, as well as internal copies to other directories. In addition a Bankrec backup should be made everytime it’s reconciled. An external out-of-office should also be made (min weekly).
