ParticipantThere are still many printers which have a Parallel port, both Laser and Dot Matric.
For Dot Matric I like the Okidata 320I
For the Laser suggest HP1300, or Lexmark 232E

ParticipantAre you using the Slash Command / D V N or has someone setup a Macro to switch to the Notes view (Function key)?

ParticipantDavid:
I leave custom programming to experts like you. I can usually find a solution to most NV problems without the use of custom procedures (or by using existing NV procedures).
Like to show users that there are often simple solutions which even a basic user can apply.

ParticipantYou can currently export nv reports and transactions to excel. Set the /PO to a filename rather than LPT1.
IE: C:INCSTMT
Then print the document and open it in excel. Select MS Dos and Fixed.
Transactions can also be done in the same manner, but use Comma separated if you wish them separated by commas.

ParticipantAdded to my list, Thanks

ParticipantTThibodeau:
I have told Bob Halpin that ~D=TAX:E=Y: does NOT stop Income Tax from being deducted from the pay cheque calculation.
E=Y only works for EI and CPP.
If you want EI and CPP deducted but not TAX, the only way is to Blank out the description ~D=TAX

ParticipantJenn:
David is correct that Alt + Enter, works while you are in NV. It switches NV from Full Screen to a Window screen, or Visa Versa. However it does not change the default. That’s changed as explained.
It does not work with other programs.

ParticipantAssuming you have placed an Icon on the Windows desktop for NV, then Right Click the Icon, Lf click Prop, Lf click Screen and check Full Screen.
HMah
ParticipantBefore any drastic steps are taken, BACKUP your NV data!!!!!!
If you cannot access Windows in normal mode, it will probably have to be re-installed (and you may have to erase or format the hard drive).

ParticipantNo problem David:
If you have a local printer connected to lpt1, use lpt2 for the network printer. Than change the Print Options to lpt2.
HMah
ParticipantIf you have setup up a Network printer than as long as it will print dos documents NV can print to it.
Assign the Network printer to LPT1 using the command:
net use lpt1: //(network computer)/(printer name)

ParticipantAs David told you, you can only view reports monthly from Jan 1 3 to Dec 31 4 (2 years). Any dates beyond two years you can ONLY be viewed Yearly.
The only option is to “Print” the report using the REPORT procedure. With the Report procedure you can select ANY dates using the Analysis or Setup view.

ParticipantAnother option to have reports print account codes is to include the Acct as part of the description.
Example: Enter description as: 5020.2 Bank Charges
The draw back is when you have “All Accounts” listed, you cannot move to the Description column and type the description to find the account (unless you use Text for account codes, ie: BC for Bank Charges).

ParticipantYou could be correct David, but I’ve found 60 has solved the problem in most cases.
When you get the printer to print one page correctly, remember to print two or more pages at one time to see that they all align correctly.
HMah
ParticipantUse the “Report” Procedure to print reports for any date range (not restricted to BegEnd of Month or year restrictions).
