SGalloParticipant
Thanks. Perhaps it would be useful to list the “Top 10.” Then let everyone make up their own mind which to choose. I have used two so far, both acceptable…but not quite.
Best would be using the capitalist approach, select the best one and buy or license the code. Then have software clean it up for NV. May be less expensive in the long run than starting from “time zero.” Then watch NV1 fly off your shelves.
My opinion, of course.
SGalloParticipantI’m not mad at anyone, but I wish QW would listen about this problem. I have been using NV1, almost since NV started. I have NV1 on a separate hard drive on my computer dedicated to just NV1…nothing else. When I purchased my current computer, and the ones before it, the NV hard drive was placed in it. I don’t want my accounting data anywhere near the Internet. NV1 is fantastic software.
Bookkeeping is a “black and white” process. It’s a numbers process that is either a debit or credit. You don’t need “bells and whistles.” Where the fancy stuff comes in is with reports. I have been printing dos to usb using Prnt 1.2.2. Not fancy and slow. I cannot understand why QW doesn’t create a “bridge” application that takes the NV1 data and sends it to print-report software with the bells and whistles.
And sell it!
SGalloParticipantI agree. I have been using NV for 15 years and happy with the “black and white” edition. I know that Q.W. Page wants to sell the Windows version, but they owe it out of a sense of corporate pride to their customers to issue a USB print file.
SGalloParticipantThe DOS2USB software does good with me except for one hangup. On any account line just before an underline, that account number moves out one column to the right when printed. I tried all different print codes but it does it every time. Any ideas?
SGalloParticipantAs far as the move routine, It’s too late now. This is about the fourth new computer transfer. And it appears that all the procs are effected by some deteriorated routine. I tried reinstalling everything (have a USB 3.5 remote drive) but so far I can’t get it installed. it’s hell when I’m in 2008 and my diskettes are circa 1988. I installed everything on my notebook (different computer than desktop) to test fresh, but same error. I think my best solution is to purchase a new CD (2008) from NV.
SGalloParticipantWhat about procedures? I purchased a new computer, HP Pavillion Media Center, and a new printer, HP Photosmart 7200. When I installed NV1 (great software – used at least 15 years)I cannot get to PRTSTMTS. I can print like Print Documents, so that part is okay. My procedure discs are all on 3.5 discs.
