Let me add another plus. You can back up not only your data easily and quickly, but you can clone your operating system and all of the data, in two simple ways. The first is to just back up the file of the virtual drive, or you can create a second virtual drive cloning your existing operating system, programs and access to your data, in minutes.
HMahParticipantMartin:
I can’t remember, but can’t the ~PRR0_.TPL be modified to pick up the same info and even possibly the SIN number?HMahParticipantThis is really a late reply, but you didn’t mention is you went into Odds & Ends and changed the cursor number and the colors.
HMahParticipantHave you had any problems printing? or accessing usb drives?
HMahParticipantNo, as mentioned earlier if you really want to use your new computer for NV than the easiest methos id to buy 32bit operating disk and install over 64bit.
HMahParticipantYes its a pain, but there are options.
Set up a Virtual Drive, go to: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/
Buy the 32bit and install on your computer
QW suggests you upgrade to NV2.I prefer the second option
ps: if you have the home version you can create the virtual pc, but you need to follow a different procedure (search it on google or youtube)
HMahParticipantThere is no Option to turn on Error Beeping in NV. The sound would be from your computer, either through the Windows sound settings or the volume setting of the computer.
In Win7 go to Start, Control Panel, Hardware and Sound then Change system sound.
Arrow down to Program Error and add a sound you like. Press Apply and OK. It may be one of the other items so you may have to play with the choices.
HMahParticipantFor Win 7
Rt click Blue bar on top of NV
Lf click Properties
Lf click Font
select 10×18In NV Options select 43×50
That will make the Windows box as large as possible
HMahParticipantDid you switch to a new template or modify you old template? What are your setting in SETUPC? I use 2,2,2
HMahParticipantMay not have understood, maybe you want to add tips take the deductions then deduct the tips (sort of an in and out)
If so, set up two accounts like accrued holiday.
The first acct is to enter the tips using ~T=I: M=Tips: for input the amount and as a D item or invome acct
The second acct setup the same way using ~T=I: M=Tips deducted, as a C item, to deduct the same tips after deductions are taken off.
See if that works?
HMahParticipantUse E=Y
HMahParticipantPlace the account below the Vacation account. Holiday is calculated by the the total of the income accounts above it.
HMahParticipantEasiest would be to re-install NV1PD1. In fact you may wish to re-install all your Prod disks.
The other option is to copy all your procedures with PUTPROCS and copy into your new books with GETPROCS. That will also insure your templates are the same (may have to change Company and modify if you have a different GST# on your template.
HMahParticipantGood to know & I’ll try on my next setup.
Thanks
HMahParticipantIs it just an install of Virtual PC or do you have to install XP as well?
