Yes. You can for example add a new Sales Journal under NewViews > Journal > Sales and window select Sub Journals, add your new journal and include the financial tag and say a peso tag.

When you enter transactions in the Transactions Explorer of this Journal, all of the entries will be taged financial and peso. See the NewViews 2.08 manual > Journals > Tag for more information.

Verify that you have the most recent version of NV2 which 2.08 service pack 8. Click Help > About at your workstation table or within your books and review below NewViews program.

If you are using the most recent version and the problem persists try another template with Print Checks. Press F3 in the value field next to template to choose.

You can forward the template you are using to me at support@qwpage.com and I’ll review it. Include the text above when attaching your template.

If you are experiencing problems within a set of NV2 books you should run NVCHECK first to determine if there is a problem.

If a problem is reported then you should then reorganize the NV2 books using NewViews version 2.08.8 which is the current version.

The default setup sets up the windowing system in the books for the first time when prompted for the first time. You should always click Setup when entering an NV2 set of books for the first time.

You can change the description from Sales to Revenue by clicking on NewViews > Account and then change the window selection of the top right window to Account Posting Tags and change the descriptions. Do not change the names as type SALES is a Revenue type and by changing may cause a problem. You could introduce your own tag under Postings Tags and add revenue to the end.

The NV2 CPA templates for Excel will be released with version 2.09 of NV2 which should be ready for release by the middle of September 2006. These templates match the templates offered in PD7 of NV1.

The two new slot names added to these templates are:

    OCRCHECKDATE
    OCRDATEGUIDE

If you are currently using 2.08.7 and above you can copy your existing templates in excel and replace the CHECKDATE with OCRCHECKDATE (Insert > Name > Define) and add the OCRDATEGUIDE field below the OCRCHECKDATE field.

See the NewViews 2.08 manual > Printing > Printing Documents > Document Templates > Check Date & Amount Formating for more details.

Click the window select button or drop down arrow at the top left hand corner of the top blue table and and either choose:

    Single Period Report
    Multiple Period Analysis
    Custom Analysis

I am assuming you are viewing NewViews > Report > The Report you are viewing.

Review the Help > Manual and under NewViews 2.08 Manual click the plus to expand the document tree and then plus on Report > Analysis for more information on this topic.

This functionality is almost complete for NV2. See the NewViews 2.08 Manual > Appendix A > Whats Coming > Internet Server for more information.

At present, it may be added to version 2.09 (tentatively to be release mid September 2006) or version 2.10.

Yes, it works perfectly in 2.08.0 and it appears the signs are reversed in 2.08.8 which produces this (64.06) result.

I’ll show this to the programmers to correct.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

Click on NewViews > Report and window select Sub Reports which will show the sub reports of report (Accouts Receviable Accounts Payable etc), click on the first report on your list and on the window below window select Custom Analysis.

Enter your required Columns on this report (Date ranges, tag financial and respect normal representation) here.

Once done, you can click on any sub report (window above) and see the same column setup you had just entered for all sub reports by clicking on that sub report.

Click on the line Column Title to sort the account setup table by line order (the cevron should appear as v or Line v). Lines that have been inserted will appear at the bottom of the table.

    Agreed.

This issue has been on the list of improvements for both Print Checks and Pay Accounts. I’ll push for this feature to be added in the 2.09 NV2 update.

    Goolam,

There is no difference between the main download link and the South African link. User’s in South Africa complained about the slow download speed.

Both links should be offering the same NV2 version. Download the latest NV2 version as noted by the filename. For example, 2.08.6 is more recent then 2.08.4 and 2.08.0.

Currently you cannot import data into NV2 from Access or Excel. You can howewever import data into NV2 exactly like you could into NV1 using the IMPORT procedure. Importing into NV2 will be expanded in updated versions of NV2.

In NV2, you can right mouse click Tools > Import Records. An Import Records window appeaars prompting for a file name to import. See the NewViews 2.08 Manual > Appendix D – Importing Files into NV2 for more clarification of file formats / File Layout and how it works. The ASCII format is fully implemented as of NewViews 2.08. FIXED Length Records will be implemented in version 2.09.

As for writing scripts in NV2 (procedures), documentation may be added at a later date in the manual about this. See the NewViews 2.08 Manual > Appendix A > What’s Coming > Programmer Interface for some more information about this.

The NV1 procedures you had mentioned above are in NV2. Procedures like BLKCOPY and BLKPASTE in NV1 are located in the Block Folder (right mouse click on your table and plus on Block > Copy and/or Block > Paste). Block Copy and Block Paste is currently implemented in NewViews > Account > Sub Folders and NewViews > Journal > Sub Journals and posting accounts. It is not implemented in NewViews > Payroll yet. COPYCOL is under Tools > Fill Column (right mouse click on your table Tools > Fill Column).

GOX is on F9 (see Help > Keyboard for a detailed list of the Function Keys preprogrammed with NV2). XACCT is now F3 when choosing a posting account and RENAME is no longer present as you have the ability to change the name of an account that has postings in it by changing the name of the account from the blue table displaying the account names.

Your printer is resetting itself. Issue /PAA (Print Advance Align) before sending a print job to ensure that your Print Options are respected.

To automate this, you can run JIG and give it a name and add the following code:

    ~pa”a”.

Run the procedure FKEYS and place the name used (above) on an unused function key.

The is the procedure TOTAUDIT (productivity disk #5) which will allow you to print or review the total structure of a total account.

Another method is to run the procedure GO and press enter. Press /A and then type the name of the total account. Press /E (to expand) to see all of the accounts totaling to the account. To print, issue /X (enter) N (enter) 0 (enter).
