Change the first line of the notes procedure of PRTPAY to the following:
@DISCONTAX=N@SIMPLETRANS=Y
For users who want the word payment to appear in the suppliers ledger whilst having the Vendors name appear in the Bank account, enter the following on the first line:
@PYMTDESC=ACCTDESC
The above will be a distribution in the bank account.

Download and install DOSBOX at http://dosbox.sourceforge.net
I would check your distribution CD’s that come with UBuntu as DOSBOX may already be installed or you can install it from the CD’s. You may might want to check for a DOSBOX version for UBuntu on UBuntu’s web site.
I’ve got DOSBOX running on Federa Core 2 and Xandros and NV1 works great.

The manual does appear to be backwards on Include empty accounts and the first column font is being used for the other columns.
The script will be looked at before the release of 2.08.7

I suspect you need to right mouse click on the NV2 installation file and click Run As. Choose Administrator and enter your administrator password.
This method of installing NV2 is for all versions of Windows Vista.

This error has been corrected in the upcoming release to NV2 (2.09.7) which should be released this week.
The problem is that one or more payroll transactions are being entered in the Canada Payroll journal which were not associated with a Paycheck created from PAYRUN or TCPROCES.
Version 2.08 allowed this to import whilst the current version 2.09.6 will not.
Wait till 2.09.7 is released and import again. Fixing the problem in NV1 could be tedious so wait till 2.09.7.

NewView is an “odd accounting software”?
Some features we are getting used to disappear.
Program seens to be in beta stage.
It is like it was not yet ready for release.
Could you please explain all of above?

How do you know NewViews is used by small companies without IT deparments?

Customer SupportA major update is from 2.08 to 2.09, anything in between (a service pack) will not be emailed.
I do not know why you and everyone would not receive an email about a major update to NV2.
Leave this with me and I will enquire.

Set the settings to the repport as you wish it. Then save it and then move to your next report to see the crrent setting and then adjust it by your saved setting.

The changes implemented in 2.09 where added to please many users who felt the 2.08 style needed to be updated.
There are no windowing changes planned for NV2. Just updates to NV2’s features, speed, and error detection and recovery (to name a few).

There will be another update to the printable manual but I don’t see it happening until 2.10 is released.
