John,
OK. I try to have the link added next week.

MSchapplerModeratorThomas,
I look into this problem and let you know what can be done for a service pack.
I see you are taking a 50% rebate of HST, Non Profits in Ontario (most but not all) take 50% of the Federal portion of HST (5%) and the rebate provincial portion of the 8% varies depending on the Non Profit type. Shouldn’t you also use tax 2 with 8% with the appropriate rebate percentage?
Just wondering.

MSchapplerModeratorI can see why users would want this but it hasn’t been implemented yet. I’ll push for this for 2.18.0. Sorry for the delays.
Regards to All,
Martin
MSchapplerModeratorI’ll make another request for this. I’m thinking that this will be added in 2.18.0 which should be out in a few months.

MSchapplerModeratorZR = The Zero Address was lost.
Backup the datad.nv file and reorganize the books from the NewViews shell. Check the NVREORG.LOG for the journal report to select when prompted for File or Journal Report. If JR then enter JR and press enter. Answer Y to proceed without a backup as you did a backup above.
If the books cannot reorganize then you may have to upload the datad.nv file for data recovery.

MSchapplerModeratorDoes /Print Advance Next (Print Form No) or (/PANN) release the items from the printer?
Have you tried the following from a command prompt:
dir > lpt1
Does this print a directory list?

MSchapplerModeratorYou might try removing nv.cfg from your NewViews program directory. Run NewViews again which will recreate the nv.cfg file which will set NewViews back to factory defaults.
Change the Options in the NewViews shell and set:
Fast Access Off
Keyboard Polling Off
Maximum EMS in KBytes 8192
Crash Recovery ONOnce set go back to Books and then change the default path to your books to NVdata using the forward slash key (/) and select drives with D and /E to expand NVdata to show all of your books in NVdata
Regards to All,
Martin
MSchapplerModeratorWhat error message are you receiving? Is the path to the books correct? Is there a datad.nv file located in the target folder?
You could restore your most recent backup but I suggest that you do not over write the current books.

MSchapplerModeratorSubfolder your wage expense accounts that you wish to pick from into a folder called Wages. For example, under NewViews > Account > Expense click on the Accounts tab button and select Folder Management. Create a new line called WAGES as the name and under type select Folder (F3) with a description of Wage Expenses.
Move all of your applicable wage expense accounts to the WAGES folder by pressing F3 under the folder column of the account and select Folders > Expense > Wage Expenses. Double click on Wage Expenses to select.
You can use Tools > Fill Column to quickly select the accounts applicable to move to the Wage Expenses folder by blocking accounts.
Once done, change your timecard pick root to
/OBJECT/NEWVIEWS/ACCOUNT/EXPENSE/Wage Expenses

MSchapplerModeratorOK. I’ll see if it can be added to a service pack of the next NewViews version 2.17.

MSchapplerModeratorThere is a problem performing block copy > save to the clipboard and then block copy/paste > load from clipboard in another another application database and then performing paste. The first column total to’s do not get pasted although they do appear in the Block Paste preview screen.
Total to columns 2 through 4 do get pasted. This also occurs when selecting save to file and load from file.
This problem does not occur within the same application database.
This problem will be fixed in service pack one of 2.17.

MSchapplerModeratorHi Thomas,
The reason for this is that the total accounts do not exist in the target application database. I suggest that you first copy the General Ledger / Trial Balance Report first which should contain most of the posting and Total Accounts.
Depending on the structure of the source application database, you should block copy / paste the root reports and then copy / paste the seconday reports to avoid the total to problem you have described.
A method for creating an existing application database structure to a new target application database is being considered and will be available in a future release of NewViews. It will not be ready for the upcoming release for 2.17 but I will again mention this for inclusion to NewViews.

MSchapplerModeratorI have attempted to duplicate your problem and cannot. I’ve tried on three Windows 7 machines testing the speed between the Vista and XP compatibility levels with no differences in performance and duplicating the error message you have described.
I suspect that there is a problem with the installation of Office 2007 on your system which is why you are changing the compatibility level. Perhaps you should reinstall Office 2007 on your system.
Regards to All,
Martin
MSchapplerModeratorI have managed to duplicate this in 2.16.3 and in the alpha version of 2.17. This is a difficult error to fix but I will see if we can stop the endless loop problem for 2.17.

Martin
MSchapplerModeratorThomas.
The caseware script has not been finalized yet. We are currently awaiting a response from caseware to complete the script. I’ll see if I can get it completed for a service pack for 2.17.
